Greetings Family,
Spring break is almost here! Here are the announcements for the week.
Mr. Barnes- Math
The algebra class will study quadratic equations in vertex form. Students will be determining the maximum and minimum. Math 8 will be studying systems of equations. Math 8 students are reminded to submit their take-home quizzes tomorrow.
Ms. Holt- Science
The science MSA is coming! It will take place following spring break. This week, scholars will continue with the cells and heredity unit. In preparation for the MSA, parents can support their child by having them practice MSA questions here.
Ms. Shepard-English
Unit exams were last Friday. Those students who missed the exam may make it up before April 1st. Additionally, students were given grade reports on Friday. They must be signed by a parent or guardian and turned in tomorrow, Monday, March 30th at the start of class for credit.
Check Schoolmax, if your scholar did not do well on the unit exam, they have one more opportunity to make up that grade for no higher than a 70. Also, look for the notification of assessment 3.2 being posted for make-ups.
This week, students will prepare for unit five by learning the literary qualities of propaganda. Unit five will begin upon our return from spring break.
Mr. Banks- Social Studies
This week in social studies scholars will examine why the colonists favored declaring independence, paying special attention to the creation of the Declaration of Independence. The Honors class will also be discussing the ideas behind 'free speech'.
